Linfang Fan holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and is a full-time faculty member at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Chongqing Technology and Business University.  His research focuses on enhancing the dynamic performance and operational reliability of power transmission systems in advanced equipment.

He was selected for the inaugural cohort of the Doctoral Student Special Program under the Young Sci-Tech Talent Cultivation Project of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). He has served as a key researcher on more than ten national and provincial/ministerial-level research projects, including projects supported by the National Key R&D Program of China and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published 15 papers in journals including Tribology International and Applied Mathematical Modelling, with 13 indexed in SCI or EI. His research outputs also include a combined total of seven granted invention patents and published invention patent applications, as well as three software copyright registrations.

He currently serves as a special issue editorial assistant for the SCI-indexed journal Lubricants and as a reviewer for leading international journals, including Mechanism and Machine Theory (MMT) and Computers & Industrial Engineering (CAIE).
