Jing Yang, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Master’s Supervisor at the School of Food Science and Engineering, Chongqing Technology and Business University. He earned his doctoral degree from China Agricultural University and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and Florida State University (FSU), USA.
He serves as a national evaluator for undergraduate thesis assessments, Guest Associate Editor of Food Science and Nutrition, and Youth Editorial Board Member for Food Science of Animal Products and Journal of Future Foods. He is also a peer reviewer for several leading journals including Food Chemistry, Food Bioscience, Food Control, and Allergy, and a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS).
Dr. Yang has presided over six provincial or ministerial-level scientific research projects, including the Chongqing Natural Science Foundation (General Program), the Chongqing Foresight and Institutional Innovation Project, and the Science and Technology Research Program of the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. He has also led or participated in six provincial-level teaching reform projects, including key projects under the Chongqing Higher Education Reform Program and the Chongqing Education Science Planning Program.
He has published over 20 research articles as first or corresponding author in internationally and domestically renowned journals such as Food Chemistry, Food Research International, Trends in Food Science & Technology, Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, Journal of Dairy Science, and Journal of Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology. He holds one authorized invention patent and has published one monograph and one textbook.
Dr. Yang has received numerous honors for his contributions to teaching and research, including the “Advanced Individual in Graduate Education Management of Chongqing” (2021), “Excellent Faculty Member in Professional Ethics” at CTBU (2025), “Excellent Paper Award” from the Chongqing Institute of Food Science and Technology (2024), and multiple “Excellent Teaching Reform Paper Awards” from CTBU (2022, 2021). During his postdoctoral work in the U.S., he was awarded the American Heart Association Travel Award (2018) and selected as a Featheringill Young Investigator Finalist (2017).
